We love this shop in Bishops Waltham, Hampshire, called Hawthorn Interiors. Retro English/French mix. The shop is in the High Street of Bishops Waltham, in an old shoe shop called Jannaways.
We found all manner of furniture and objects that the owner has lovingly re-conditioned, re-painted and given a new lease of life to!
We love the quirky home items; the unusual take on run of the mill furniture completely re-invented is very clever. They offer a range of solid quality furniture which includes wardrobes, chest of drawers and tables and chairs. All the items are finished in either rustic wax, lacquered or painted with a distressed look.
The shop is over two floors and in the summer, they open up the courtyard for coffee where many more outside items can be found like pots, and rusty ironwork and gardenalia.
There is also a good selection of kitchenalia items upstairs, called Kitsch ‘n’Cookware – this range provides familiar utensils and equipment used for everyday activities such as storage, cooking and preparing food. Everything for the Kitchen Goddess or God?! From quirky peelers through to glamorous but practical washing up gloves, it’s all there. There is even a range for children. From retro kitchen furniture to original utensils, this shops is an Aladdin’s Cave of quirky finds.
We love the bunting! Great for these lovely spring days we have been having- spend time in the garden and make it jolly!
How about stencils for your kitchen wall? We think this is a great idea to add a touch of English retroness to your home!
The bygone era is re-worked to be very contemporary and very now.
Meanwhile, Karen and Geraldine have left for Milan Furniture Fair, we're very jealous in the office! But we are looking forward to all the interesting finds they are going to bring back with them. From new furniture to novel ideas, it should be very interesting - is Milan going to follow the austerity path or be as adventurous as ever? We shall see.
